Yesterday, I was at work making a few cards. They look a little sparse to me. I was going for a somewhat minimalist approach, and I think I overdid the "less is more". The nice thing is, I can always add to the card.. it's a lot easier than trying to subtract elements.
So here goes!
This is a card I made for a friend in the hospital.. but Im not sure I like it enough to give to someone. I like the embossing, and I like the colored hearts, but the cutout heart is a little "blah"; and I think the stamp should be "different" (although I'm not sure HOW... or what look I want).
The next one is VERY minimalist, but I love the color choice. It reminds me more of fall, and I'm not really sure where to go from here with it. I think it needs something (acorn paper piecing, a pumpkin in the corner, fall leaves, maybe? Thoughts anyone??
This is a card I made using a heart puzzle coluzzle that I love (I'm still upset that they don't make them anymore! I'm glad I bought most of them when I heard, but I'm still looking for more!). I used a butterfly punch to try for a 3D look; and I think that I succeeded, for the most part. I have a glue dot under the right wing to help it stand up a little. The sentiment is "my heart breaks when I think of you". Sappy, I know..
Okay.. and THIS one is the best of the bunch, I think: I still need to get some small gem embellishments, but for what I had to work with, it's pretty darned good! It still needs a little "something"; but it's closer.
